Obituary of Virginia L (Parsons) Provencher

Virginia (Parsons) Provencher of Haverhill, died peacefully on September 19, 2014 at the age of 87. She was surrounded by her children with the loving care and support of the staff at Penacook Nursing home and First Choice Hospice Care of North Andover, Ma. Born and raised in Peabody, she was known for her “quick wit” and smiling eyes. Before her retirement she worked at the telephone company as a switchboard operator and the American Greeting Card Company. Her enjoyments were taking trips, Bingo, family gatherings and getting together with her “card” girls group. Virginia was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (McKeon) Parsons. She was predeceased by her eight siblings John, James, Robert, and Walter Parsons, Anne King, Alice Farnsworth, Dorothy Baccari and Rita Blumberg, and is survived by one sister, Lillian Luciani of California. She leaves six children, Diane Grover and husband Paul, David Barker and wife Roseanne, Ginny L’Italien, Richard Provencher and wife Denise, Janice Provencher, and James Provencher and wife Karen. She was the loving grandmother to six grandchildren, Kristen Sevene, Kerri Gallagher, Thomas L’Italien, Traci L’Italien, Brian Provencher, and Ashley Hopkins. Virginia was also a Great grandmother to seven children. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that she loved and enjoyed throughout the years. Her family welcomes all to attend services and share their memories at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street Peabody on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Virginia’s memory to the “EMPLOYEE STAFF FUND” at the Penacook Nursing Home, 150 Water St, Haverhill, MA 01830.
