Obituary of Benjamin J. Gigliotti
Benjamin J. Gigliotti, 96, of West Peabody , died
on June 6, 2003 at the Harborside Cedar Glen Nursing home in Danvers after
a long illness. He was the husband of the late Alice (Thibeau) Gigliotti.
He was born in Peabody on May 1, 1907, the son of the late Frank and Catherine
(Scarello) Gigliotti and had resided in Peabody most of his life.
He was an automotive
mechanic for many years operating his own garage in West Peabody.
Following his
retirement he moved to St. Petersburg Florida where he resided for 20 years be fore
moving back to Peabody 6 years ago. He enjoyed working in his garden.
He is survived by a son and his wife, Richard and Nancy Gelotti of Peabody,
A daughter and her husband, Shirley and Paul Brown of Lynnfield, 4 sisters,
Catherine Cronin of Danvers, Lucy Peterson, Mary Trabucco and Lena Styles all of
Peabody; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and
many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Bernard Gelotti and Ruth
Melanson and the brother of the late Rachael Wheeler, Frank Gellott and Camino
Gigliotti.
A Memorial Mass will be held in St. John’ s Church, Peabody on Friday, June 20, 2003 at
9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Inurnment will be in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of the North Shore 10 Elm St., Danvers, Ma. in his memory.
