Obituary of Jose Antonio Nascimento

Jose Antonio Nascimento, 51, of Lynn MA and formerly of Peabody died Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Brigham and Women’s hospital in Boston after a 2 year battle with cancer. He was born in Obidos, Portugal, on February 15, 1963, the son of Antonio and Gertrudes (Esperanca) Nasimento and resided in Peabody for many years before moving to Lynn. He had been a mechanic with the City of Peabody mostly with the Police and Fire Departments for the past 15 years. Jose was an avid hunter and fisherman and had belonged to the Danvers Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed the outdoors and camping and loved to hunt deer and fish the Salt waters of the North Shore. He loved his hunting dog “Brownie” who accompanied him on his deer hunts. He is survived by his parents, Anthony and Gertrudes Nasimento of Peabody, a daughter, Theresa Nascimento and a son Anthony Nascimento both of Danvers, his sister and brother-in-law, Odette and MA State Representative Robert Fennell of Lynn, his companion of 7 years, Karen West of Lynn, he was “titi” to his aunt Maria Machado of Lynn and Maria Adelino and her family of Peabody, a niece Ashley Tanya Fennell of Lynn and many other nieces, nephews , cousins and dear friends. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
