Obituary of Sebastian M. Avellino Jr.

Sebastian M. Avellino Jr., 76, of Peabody and formerly of Revere, died peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2014 at his residence with his family at his side. He was the Husband of Jane E. (Connolly) Avellino. He was born in Winthrop, MA on November 23, 1937, the son of the late Sebastian (Sam) Sr. and Margaret (Buttrick) Avellino Sr. and had resided in Revere most of his life before moving to Peabody 11 years ago. While growing up in Revere, he was affectionately knows as “Hinkle” to his many dear friends. He had operated the Avellino Motorcycle Sales and Service Co store that his father had started for 30 years prior to his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed going up to Laconia every year and helping out at the motorcycle races. Following his retirement, he assisted his wife her Waggin Tails Pet Sitting Service in Peabody. He had been a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the US Army prior to his discharge in 1966. He is survived by his wife Jane of Peabody, a daughter, Angel Bart and her husband Thomas of Raymond, NH, a son, Leo St. Pierre and his wife Sandra of Peabody, a Brother Rocco Avellino of Lynn, 7 grandchildren, Crystal Costatino of Winthrop, Jason, Jessica and Jaimie Bart all of Raymond, NH, Leo St. Pierre Jr. of Amesbury, MA, Benjamin and Henry St. Pierre both of Peabody, five great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Elaine Hamwey and her husband Alan of Chelmsford and Chris Casenti and her husband Larry of Rowley and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Carol Ann (Armstrong) Avellino and his brothers, Francis and Richard Avellino. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St., West Peabody at 10:00 AM.
