Obituary of Lionel Richard Camire

Lionel R. Camire, 90, of Peabody and formerly of Salem, passed away with his family by his side at the Peabody Glen Nursing Home in Peabody following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Mary (Ryan) Camire with whom he shared over 27 years of marriage and was predeceased by his first wife Ann (Tower) Camire in 1971. Born in Marblehead, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Camire. He was raised and educated in Salem and has lived in Peabody for the past 20 years. Lionel was a Disabled Veteran who served during World War II with the United States Army and was honorably discharged in March of 1944. Lionel was the owner of Camire & Sons General Contracting for more than 40 years in Salem. He was a member of AA Grey Croft Club in Beverly for over 50 years. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Richard, Walter, Thomas, Claudette, Elaine, Bobby, Jan, Rosemary, Kathy, Jimmy and Mary, also by his grandchildren, Tony, Timothy, Melanie, Jeremy, Mark, Chanelle, Keith, John, Tracey, Andrew, Philip, Nicholas, Danielle, Jennifer, Geoffrey, Rebecca, Kara, Leah, Anne, Jared, Conor, Noreen, Patrick, Sheila, Jessica, Kanoa, Kerrianne, Bridget, Joseph, Colleen, and Keani, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Donald Camire and by his 8 siblings. His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at the Calvary Christian Church, 47 Grove St., Lynnfield to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Calvary Christian Church, 47 Grove St., Lynnfield, MA 01940.
