Rachel W. (Watkins) Lynge
BOXFORD—Rachel W. Lynge, 95, longtime resident of Boxford, MA died on September 28, 2014 at the Ledgewood Nursing Home, Beverly MA. She was the wife of the late Kenneth C. Lynge who died in 2012.
She was born in Elysburg, PA on December 25, 1918, the daughter of the late William D. and Myrtle E. (Krigbaum) Watkins.
She lived in Wheeling, West Virginia until going to St. Catherine's Prep School for one year before college. She graduated from Vassar College in 1941 and many years later went back to school for a masters at Salem State University.
She was a French Teacher at the Memorial Middle School in Beverly for 10 years.
Rachel was also a voice student at the New England Conservatory in Boston. She sang in the Trinity Episcopal church choir for many years, taught her children to play the piano and was thrilled to join the Tanglewood chorus for one summer.
She is survived by her daughter, Justine Lynge of Ithaca, N.Y. her son, Geoffrey Lynge of Dorchester, MA , her grandchildren, Katherine HT Liu and David M H Liu and great grandchildren, Amani I. and Amaya Liu.
