Obituary of Louise M. (Richards) Esty

Louise M. (Richards) Esty, 85, of Danvers, died Friday evening at Union Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Sherman Esty. Born in Searsmont, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Florence (Norman) Richards. She was raised and educated in Peabody, graduating from Peabody High School in 1936, and has resided in Danvers since 1964. During World War II, she worked as an assembler for General Electric in Lynn. She later attended Wilfred Academy of Beauty in Boston and worked as a hairdresser for 21 years. Prior to her retirement, she worked for 11 years for the town of Danvers as a Teacher Aide at the Riverside School. She was very active with her family and served as a Den Mother for Scout Troop, Den #28 in Hamilton. She also enjoyed spending time gardening and doing crosswords puzzles. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bruce and Tami Esty of Epping, NH, and Scott Esty of Danvers; a brother, William Burns of New York. A private graveside service was held at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peabody, with a memorial service to be held and at a later date at Holy Trinity United Methodist Church in Danvers.
