Obituary of Frank Cartolaro

Frank Cartolaro, 98, of Lynnfield, died early Tuesday afternoon at the Harborside Nursing Home, Danvers, folowing a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Rosa (Di Liberto) Cartolaro. Born in Catanzara, Italy, he was the son of the late Rosario and Carmella (De Mara) Cartolaro. He was raised and educated in Italy before immigrating to the United States. He settled in Everett where he lived for over 16 years and has spent the last 48 years living in Lynnfield. Prior to his retirement, he worked as an Independant meat-cutter in the Everett area for over 70 years. He was the former owner of Carlos Market in Everett during the 1920's and 1930's. He later worked at White King in Everett. He tended and cared for his flower garden and was known to have a "green" thumb. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Pauline Cartolaro of Peabody; 5 daughters and sons-in-law, Joanna and John Carozza of Saugus, Theresa and Jospeh Jannino of Everett, Rose and Frank Iula of Peabody, Mary Ann and Robert Hynes of Dania Fla., and Jeanette and Mark Lerner of Lynnfield. Also survived by 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildre, and several nieces and nephews. His Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home 20 Church Street Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Assumption Church, Lynnfield at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
