I only knew Bob for a short time, from the gym, before going back to Italy. One of our mutual friends from the morning group of regulars informed me of the shocking and saddening news about Bob. She knew that I would want to know, because it was obvious what an effect he had on all of us, even as casual friends. Bob was easy to like - modest, sincere, kind - just a cool, good guy.
