Obituary of Eunice (Sheridan) Smyrnios

M. Eunice (Sheridan) Smyrnios PEABODY—M. Eunice (Sheridan) Smyrnios, 89, beloved wife of the late Philip Smyrnios, died peacefully on Tuesday November 4, 2014 at her son’s home in Shrewsbury, while in the comforting presence of her family. Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Bartholomew and Suzanna (O’Neil) Sheridan. She grew up in Lowell where she attended schools, and graduated from Lowell High School. She lived in Peabody for over 50 years. Eunice was a longtime, active member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody. She was an avid reader and was skilled cooking Greek cuisine. She was most passionate about her family and devoted her life to making things better for them. She is survived by a daughter Valerie Smyrnios of Peabody; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Nicholas & his wife Roxanne Smyrnios of Shrewsbury; three grandchildren, Alexandra Smyrnios, Danielle Smyrnios, and Philip Smyrnios; a sister Donna Connelly of Tyngsboro; a sister-in-law Priscilla Smyrnios of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by brothers John “Jackie” Sheridan and William Sheridan. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 6 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the Peabody Education Foundation, PO Box 233, Peabody, MA 01960.
