Obituary of Frances H. (Orlowski) Ercha
Frances H. (Orlowski) Ercha, 93, of Peabody, wife of the late Bronislaus R. Ercha, died on Monday, November 3, 2014 with her family by her side at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Mrs. Ercha was born in Peabody, on January 9, 1921, daughter of Ignacy and Wladyslawa (Zielinski) Orlowski. She was raised in Peabody, was a graduate of Peabody High School and a lifelong resident of the city.
Following her High School graduation Frances began her working career as an inspector at GE in West Lynn, and was later employed as a quality inspector at L & E in Danvers and Varian Corporation in Beverly. Her last employment was as a part time office clerk at the Peabody Municipal Light Plant, a position which she held for 5 years. Frances was a loving mother who devoted her life to creating a home for her family.
Frances was a faithful parishioner at the former St. Joseph Church in Peabody, a member and Past President of its’ Holy Rosary Society and the Daughters of St. Joseph. As a pillar of the community Helen was a member of the United Polish Organization, St. Michaels Society, Mass Federation Polish Women’s Club, North Shore (RSVP) Retired Seniors Volunteer Program, Peabody Council on Aging and the Pioneers of America Hug a Bear Program.
Frances is survived by her children and their spouses, Janet F. and Ted Tatarczuk of Groveland, Elizabeth J. and Stephen Godzyk of Byfield, and Dennis J. and Robin Ercha of Peabody; a special niece Elaine Wozny and her husband Paul of Groveland; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Robert Brian Ercha in 2007 and her siblings Leonard Orlowski, Jane Zalewski and Thomas Orlowski.
As per Frances’ request a private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
