She later graduated in the first class to receive a teaching degree from Salem State Teachers College in 1935. Hazel taught for more than 30 years in Peabody most of which was spent at the Samuel Brown School in South Peabody prior to her retirement 40 years ago. In her later years, she became a devoted bingo player and had been very active with the Senior Citizens of Peabody. She enjoyed spending time at the family summer cottage in “Sabino”, a summer community on New Meadows River in West Bath, Maine. She particularly enjoyed bragging at anything her grandchildren were involved and spent many days and nights at cold hockey rinks, baseball diamonds and swim meets. Her grandson, Adam Bailey tweeted, "today, the world lost an angel. Thank you for all you did for me over the years. I will love and miss you every day. RIP Mini. And her grandson Michael Mosse tweeted, "Such a sad yet joyous day, as my grandmother passed away at 101 years old. An amazing woman: so loving, giving and kind. Always concerned with others more than herself. Our loss is truly Heavens gain. We will miss her deeply but will always remember her fondly, and often with a chuckle. May God be with this sweet woman. She is survived by a son, George E. Mosse Jr. and his wife Judith E. Mosse whom she thought he world of, of Beverly, MA and Ft.
