Obituary of Joseph A. Simone, Sr.

Joseph A. Simone, Sr. PEABODY—Joseph A. Simone, Sr., 84, beloved husband of the late Louise (Densk) Simone, died Tuesday morning November 18, 2014 at the Beverly Hospital while in the comforting presence of his family, following a brief illness. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (DeGiacomo) Simone. He grew up there and attended schools there. Mr. Simone worked as a Route Driver with Whyte’s Laundry Service for over 30 years before retiring 19 years ago. Joe enjoyed always being on-the-go and taking road trips to nowhere. His main passion was family and was very dedicated, especially attending his children’s and grandchildren’s events and sports games. He is survived by two sons Robert Simone of Palm Harbor, FL and Joe, Jr & his wife Kelly Simone of Lynn; three daughters, Rosemary “Rizzy” & her husband Mike Sullivan of North Hampton, NH, Helen Simone of Peabody, and Holly & her husband David Bassi of Danville, NH; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Teresa Barbanti of Saugus, Josephine Gallo of Salem, Catherine Gallo, Marie & her husband Keith Flynn, and Gloria Vinard all of Peabody, and a brother-in-law, sister-in-law and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death, besides his wife and parents, by a brother Frank Simone. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday November 21, 2014 from 10 AM – 12 Noon with a Funeral Service at 12 Noon in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688.
