Obituary of William P. Curr

William P. Curr, 81, of West Peabody, died peacefully Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Genesis Twin Oaks Healthcare Center in Danvers. He was the husband of Eleanor M. (Smith) Curr. He was born in Everett, MA on January 17, 1933, the son of the late William and Annie (Malcolm) Curr was raised and educated there graduating from Everett High School in 1951 and later from Wentworth Institute, Boston with a degree in Electrical Training. He had been a facilities engineer for the Polaroid Corp in Cambridge for 30 years prior to his retirement. Bill was an avid outdoorsman enjoying both hunting and fishing and doing taxidermy on his fallen prey and had been a member of the Andover Sportsman Club. He had been a resident of Peabody for the past 47 years and had been active in the Masons Holten Masonic Lodge in Danvers. He was also active at the West Congregational Church in West Peabody for many years. Bill coached for many years in the Peabody Youth Hockey program. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor, a son, William Curr of Hamilton, and a daughter Kim Cyr of Peabody, his sisters, Dorothy Lufkin of Brockton, MA, Edna Hunkins of Winchester, MA, Winifred Olsen of Scituate, MA and Carol Kaslick of Peabody, his cherished grandchildren, Gregory, Jeremy, Timothy and Zachary Boucher, Samantha and Dereck Curr, Karissa and Cory Cyr and Faith and Grace Curr Flynn who was Papa to all of them and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Deborah Boucher. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His Funeral Service will be held there on Wednesday at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
