Obituary of Marcia J. (Patrican) Dzielnik

Marcia J. (Patrican) Dzielnik, 74, of Peabody, beloved wife of 53 years to the late Stanley Albert “Sonny” Dzielnik, died peacefully on Monday December 8, 2014 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with the comforting presence of her family at her side. Marcia was born in Gloucester, on March 31, 1940, the loving daughter of the late Daniel and Gladys (Clooney) Patrican, and was raised and educated in Gloucester. Marcia began her working career as an assembler at GTE Sylvania in Salem and during her 25 years of employment was promoted to quality inspector. After raising her family, Marcia worked on the North Shore as a nurse’s aide for 15 years and also dedicated her time and knowledge caring for family members during their illnesses. Marcia was a loving mother who devoted her life to creating a home for her family. She was a proud grandmother who supported and enjoyed following her grandchildren’s accomplishments and also had the joy to cherish her 2 great-granddaughters, if only for a brief time. Marcia was a kind person and beloved by everyone she befriended. For many years she took pleasure spending time in Florida, traveling, going on cruises and playing bingo. Marcia is survived by a son, David S. Dzielnik; 2 daughters and their spouses, Debra A. & Robert Pelletier, and Donna M. Dzielnik & Brian Foisy; 5 cherished grandchildren, Tracey Claveau, Erin Hunt, Joshua Foisy, Amy and Stephen Cosimelli, Emily and Jonathan Johnson; 2 great-granddaughters, Madelyn Rose Cosimelli and Grace Harper Cosimelli; a cousin Marianne Owens who was like a sister to her; a sister-in-law, Janice Patrican; many nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Marcia was also predeceased by 4 brothers, Daniel, Louis, Peter and Michael Patrican. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Marcia’s Celebration of Life service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made in Marcia’s name to MGH/North Shore Cancer Center, 102 Endicott St., Danvers, MA 01923.
