Obituary of Eileen (O'Brien) Barbour

Eileen (O’ Brien) Barbour, 82, of Salem died early Saturday morning at the Beverly Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Donald Barbour. She was born in Salem on February 14, 1921, the daughter of the late Edward F. and Agnes E. (Page) O’ Brien and had resided in Salem most of her life. She had been a waitress at the North Shore restaurants for many years prior to her retirement. She was an avid beano player at many of the church halls and recently on Sunday evenings at St. John’ s Hall in Beverly. She loved taking care of her grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Leo Gauthier of Salem, A brother and sister-in-law, Everett F. and Bernice O’ Brien of Beverly, 3 grandchildren, Donald B. Gauthier of E. Boston, Eileen and her husband John Crowley of Beverly and Leanne S. Gauthier of Salem, a niece Elizabeth Fotheringham of Manchester, NH and 2 nephews, Michael O’ Brien of Salem and George O’ Brien of So. Carolina and many grand nieces and grand nephews. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. from the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Salem at 9:00 a.m. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
