Obituary of Rose V Bosse

Rose (Vasilakopoulos) Bosse, 90 years old, wife of the late Dr. Raymond Bosse died peacefully on Saturday December 27 at Brooksby Village in Peabody where she received exceptional care. She was born in Salem on February 2, 1924 to the late Arthur and Georgia (Pappas) Vasilakopoulos. She graduated from Salem High School in 1942. After completing courses at The Hawthorne School of Business in Salem, Rose worked for many years at Sylvania on Boston Street in Salem and then Danvers as an executive secretary until her retirement. In 1967, a cousin Peter Poulos, who at the time was a student at Hellenic College in Brookline, introduced Rose to his professor Dr. Raymond Bosse. They married in August of 1968 in Dallas Texas. They settled in Danvers in 1973 before moving to Brooksby Village in 2006. Upon retiring from Sylvania, Rose who was known for her wonderful sense of style and fashion opened a women’s clothing boutique in Wellesley Hills and then Marblehead. Her husband eventually retired after a brilliant career in education and research and at that point both embarked on a lifetime of travel all over the world. They particularly enjoyed traveling each year to their timeshare in Aruba. Besides traveling Rose and Raymond delighted in entertaining their friends and family at their home in Danvers especially hosting summer cookouts by the pool. Rose was an active member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody. Rose and Raymond were never blessed with children but enjoyed a special relationship with their nephew Arthur Vasilakopoulos whom they treated like a son. She is survived by her brother John Vasilakopoulos and his wife Sophie of Nashua New Hampshire, her sister-in-law Betty Vasilakopoulos of Salem, a cousin Mary Kelly of Billerica, as well as many nieces and nephews including Georgene Bleau of Nashua New Hampshire, Thomas Vasilakopoulos of Salem and Lisa(Vassy)Fraser of Salem. She was predeceased by her brothers Angelo, William, Spiro, Christo, and Peter Vasilakopoulos as well as a sister-in-law Shirley (Felton) Vassy. Visiting hours will be Tuesday December 30 from 4pm-7pm at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody. Funeral services will be Wednesday December 31 at 10:00 AM at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Philoxenia House in Boston Mass.
