Obituary of Mary Perreira Silva

Mary (Perreira) Silva, 92, formerly of Connolly Terrace, Peabody, died Saturday morning at the Pilgrim House Nursing Home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late John Silva. She was born in Peabody on June 23, 1910 the daughter of the late Alberto and Bemvinda (Silva) Perreira and was raised in the Azores, Portugal before moving back to Peabody in 1949. She had been employed at the New England Sportswear Co. in Peabody for 18 years and had also worked at the former CBS Hytron Co. of Danvers for 10 years prior to her retirement. She is survived by 2 sons, Marino Silva of Lynn, Ma. and Edwin Silva of Gracioza, Azores, Portugal, a brother Manuel Perry of Florida, 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St. Peabody followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Walsh Ave., Peabody at 09:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
