Obituary of William A. "Bill" Caperci

William A. Bill Caperci 76 years of Peabody, husband of the late Claire A. (Decarolis) Caperci, died unexpectedly on Sunday at his home. Mr. Caperci was born April 8, 1929 in Quincy son of the late Anthony and Margaret (Connell) Caperci. He was raised in Quincy and graduated from Quincy High School class of 1947. He attended Lowell Tech and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 1951. During the Korean Conflict he served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant and was stationed in Germany. He resided in Wilmington before moving to Peabody in 1980. Mr. Caperci was employed for period of 42 years as a Civil Service Engineer for the State of Massachusetts in Boston and the Eastern area of the State. In 1993 he retired as a Supervisor a position that he held for many years. He was a Boy Scout Leader for many years in Wilmington and was the proud father of 2 Eagle Scouts. Mr. Caperci was a Ham Radio Operator, as an outdoorsman he enjoyed fishing, canoeing and the firing range target practice. He served as a member of the Board of Appeals in Wilmington and the Massachusetts Mobile Home Association. He was always referred to as the Grand Pubah of the Fagowi Tribe He is survived by his children and their spouses, Anthony Tony and Michelle Caperci II of Nashua NH, Margaret A. Peggy and Steven Raffaelo of Lowell and William R. Caperci of Wilmington; a sister, Margaret Brigham of Plymouth; 5 grandchildren, Mary E. Papalucas whom he raised from 8 years of age and resided with in Peabody, Anthony Caperci III, James T. Caperci both of Manchester NH, Christopher Raffaelo and Jessica Raffaelo both of Lowell, several nieces and nephews and his many friends. A brother Frank Caperci pre deceased him. A family service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St. location Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Thursday 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Cremation will follow services. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Feline Hospital, 88 Webb St., Salem MA 01970.
