Edward L. Elliott
PEABODY Edward L. Elliott, 75, beloved husband of the late Joan (Fawcett) Elliott, died suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Ipswich on Sunday.
Born in Medford, he was the son of the late George and Pauline (Doran) Elliott. He lived in Medford in his youth and attended Medford schools.
Mr. Elliott enlisted in the United States Army, in the Air Corps, just as they were separating to be what is the U.S. Air Force. He served as a Machinist in the Strategic Air Command branch during the Korean Conflict.
Following the war, he was a Machinist, and for several years was the Mechanical Inspector with Dynamic Research Corp in Wilmington until his retirement five years ago.
He enjoyed time with his family, he loved military aircraft, reading, and gathering with people. He also loved traveling and visiting casinos.
He will be missed by his family, including: two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert & Kathy Elliott of West Newfield, ME and David & Bethany Elliott of Peabody; five grandchildren, Michael and Joseph Elliott of West Newfield, ME, then Shannon Woods, Lisa Elliott of Peabody and Cpl Sean Elliott, U.S.M.C. Stationed in Iraq; one great-grandson, Lennon Michael Elliott of ME; three sisters, Pauline Johnson of Wakefield, Carol Moore of Reading, and Patricia Collings of Tewksbury, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Fawcett) Elliott and a son, Stephen Elliott.
His funeral will be held at a TBA from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
A visitation will be held at TBA from 5 to 8 P.M.
Burial in Lothrop Hill Cemetery, Barnstable, MA.
