Obituary of Joseph A Medina, Jr

Joseph A. Medina, Jr., of Peabody, died early Wednesday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Bonnie L (Leyendecker) Medina. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Joseph A Medina, Sr., and Helen (Sullivan) Medina. He was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Essex Agricultural and Technical School and later received his Associates degree from North Shore Community College. Joseph was first employed as a VW mechanic for Small Wheels in Salem, and then continued to work several mechanic jobs before he finally became a Facilities Manager at North Shore Community College in Danvers. Joseph enjoyed working on cars, going to concerts and spending time with his family and especially his rescue dog, Zeus. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his son, Major Adam Medina, USAF of Korea, his daughters, Sarah Stiefel and Mariah Medina, both of Peabody, his two brothers, Charles Medina of Peabody and Brian Medina of Salisbury, his sister, Brenda Melendez of Barre, his grandson, Dante White and by his long time friend, Steven Louf of Peabody. His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Margin St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
