Obituary of Angeline (Ruotolo) Desmond
Angeline Agnes (Ruotolo) Desmond, 92,
formerly of Peabody, died Saturday at the Prescott house nursing home in
No. Andover after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas P.
Desmond.
She was born in Salem on September 2, 1910, the daughter of the
late Gabriel and Maria (Grazia) Ruotolo and had resided in Peabody most
of her life.
She was first employed at the former Danvers Bleachery in
Peabody and then went to the Wilford Beauty Academy in Boston to become
a hairdresser. She operated a beauty salon at her home for over 30 years
prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the Sons of Italy, Salem Ma.
Chapter and loved to cook.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law,
Thomas W. and Patricia Desmond of Lawrence and John G. and Gail Desmond of
Peabody; 2 sisters, Madeline Ruotolo and Anne Murphy both of Peabody, 8 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandsons and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of
the late Alex and Frank Ruotolo.
A Service will be held on Monday at 11:30 A.M. at the Ruotolo Family lot in
St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Arrangements
by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home of Peabody.
