I'm so sorry to learn of Mrs. Flemming's (I knew her as Mrs. Emmett) passing. Mrs. Emmett was an AMAZING teacher. I was lucky enough to have her and Mrs. McCafferty in 2nd grade. I still tell friends about the lesson they did to teach us about money and coins and my mother still has the "All About My Mom" book I made for her for Mother's Day in Mrs. Emmett's class. I remember her as kind, fun and always smiling. I have three children in school now (one in 2nd grade) and I tell them all the time that 2nd grade was my favorite! My condolences to her family.

TO JULIE'S FAMILY, Julie was a joy to be around. Everytime we met we both walked away laughing. In high school she enjoyed life to a strong spirit. She had my three children in the second grade and they are much better for it.
MAY JULIE REST IN PEACE.

Julie Fleming was an incredible person, teacher and mom. I never saw her without a smile or a kind word. Her sense of humor was undeniable. Her passion for teaching and children influenced so many students' lives (especially the wild boys she always had in her classes). My children always talk with such fondness about Ms. Fleming whenever they reminisce about the Center School.
Mickey, Mark & Maureen, I hope you are all well. I know losing your mom leaves a hole in your hearts, but know how proud she was of all of you. She was an incredible mom. She worked hard at that job. My sincerest condolences.

Julie Fleming was an amazing teacher! Both my girls had her and loved her. They would always come home and share stories of how funny she was in class! She will always be fondly remembered and draw a smile from each of us. When I was going through the educational process of becoming a teacher myself, she gave me sound advice and her PARKING PASS to Salem State's teacher parking lot!! Rest in PEACE, Julie.

Having known Julie was to know "the best of the best". As a Peabody teacher, I had the opportunity to spend many professional development days in her company. Additionally, I took several after school courses , which she taught. She was AMAZING...such a wealth of knowledge with a slow and steady pace. After retirement, I worked with her at the polls...she again was so knowledgeable and experienced. One of my favorite memories of our "poll days", was Julie's joy in meeting former students/parents and reminiscing about Center School days. Julie was a woman of tremendous strength, compassion and knowledge...an outstanding teacher and an even more amazing mother/grandmother. I was so honored to have known her, learned from her, and had the opportunity to enjoy her "Julieness". RIP dear friend...

We always said we would get together again and now we have lost that chance. Julie was my sidekick in the Mothers of Twins Club. We shard so many laughs. She was quite the comedienne often at her own expense. She loved her children, her own children and the children she taught. She could find the humor in every situation. Life knocked her down a lot but she always picked herself up, dusted herself off, made a joke about it and carried on. She had many friends in the Mothers of Twins Club.. Thank you for your friendship Julie. Thank you for all the laughs. Job well done. Your chuldren and many other children have learned life's lessons from you. Kathy

I am both surprised and saddened to hear of Julie's passing. She was a great source of support and inspiration both in my personal and professional life. I admired her strength, wisdom and ability to face life with a "keep your chin up" attitude. My three children were blessed to have Julie as their teacher and I was grateful to have Max, her grandson in my class. Truly, ONE SPECIAL TEACHER CAN MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE IN A CHILD'S ENTIRE LIFE IN JUST ONE YEAR!!! Thankfully God has another bright star in the sky.

I always told my daughters when they were young, that there would be that one teacher that they would always remember. Mrs. Fleming was that teacher. She was loving, funny, patient and kind. She was an inspiration to my younger daughter, who is now a second grade teacher herself. Mrs. Fleming was a blessing to any child lucky enough to have had her. Rest in peace dear lady.

There are special people in the world, and Julie was one of them. She taught both of my daughters who had quite different learning styles, and both thrived under her instruction, care and guidance. She had a way of making you feel good with kind words and support even when being a parent wasn't so easy. Over the years we kept in touch, especially on voting day. I always made it a point to visit with her for a few minutes. Each time, she asked how my girls were and she was thrilled with whatever new stories I had or photos I showed her. She loved to reminisce about the time that my oldest daughter wanted a glass of Burgundy or Bordeaux with the slice of pizza she had drawn on the playground at recess. It's hard to put into words what a special person she was in my life. I know that she touched many people, and I feel blessed to have been one of them. I will forever remember her smile and her joy in living life to the fullest. Bless you all for sharing her with us.
