Obituary of Richard A Royer
Richard A Royer, 73, of Peabody, died Wednesday afternoon at his home surrounded by his family following a long illness. He was the devoted husband of Barbara (Pouliot) Royer with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage.
He was born and raised in Richford, VT, later lived in Springfield, MA, Setauket, NY and has lived in Peabody for 31 years. He was a graduate of Merrimack College.
Richard was employed for over 45 years as a quality control Engineer for General Electric in Lynn and Everett before retiring at Dynatech in New York.
Richard was very active in the communities he lived in from coaching youth sports in his early years to volunteering as a teacher of computer skills and Model Ship building at the Torigian life Center in his retirement years. He also enjoyed playing golf and tennis and enjoyed sailing and was a member of the Thunderbird club as well.
Besides his loving wife of over 50 years, he is survived by his three devoted sons, Michael, Joseph and Christopher Royer, his two brothers, Greg Erickson and Roger Royer, and is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Patrick, Courtney, Tucker, Katryna, Evan, Joshua, Danielle, Nicholas, and Ashley and by his great granddaughter, Andrea.
His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 CHURCH STREET, DOWNTOWN Peabody followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial services will be private.
