Obituary of John V "Motzi" Motzi
John V. Motzi
PEABODY – John V. Motzi, 27, passed away at his home in Wenham on Thursday March 12, 2015.
Born in Boston, he was the son of John “Jack” Motzi of Wenham and Mary (Williams) Motzi of Gloucester. He grew up in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 2006.
John worked for years in the hospitality industry. “Motzi” had a special gift of kindness and compassion. His warm and genuine smile endeared him to all who knew him. He was a very devoted person who loved his family passionately, especially his sister Carolyn and his three nieces Ava, Lola and Jordan.
John loved all sports, but his true passion was football. He started playing peewee football at age seven and continued through high school for the Peabody Tanners as a wide receiver. He will be remembered as a gentle spirit and peacemaker as his many friends and family will attest. He will be dearly missed, but in his family’s hearts forever. John had so many friends and he cherished every one of them.
He is survived by: his father & step-mother, Jack Motzi & Darryl Del Torchio of Wenham, his mother Mary Williams Motzi of Gloucester; a sister Carolyn Motzi of Nashua, NH; three nieces Ava, Lola, and Jordan of Nashua; his paternal grandparents Joseph & Barbara Motzi of Malden; his maternal grandmother Frances Williams of Somerville; an uncle & aunt Joseph & Patricia Motzi of Hummarock, MA, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
