Obituary of Robert A Briano, Sr

Robert A “Bob” Briano, Sr., 77, of Peabody, formerly of East Boston, died early Friday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie (Ciriello) Briano. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Angelo and Bessie (Dimino) Briano. He was raised and educated in East Boston and has lived in Peabody for the past 5 years. Bob was employed with the Federal Government as a machinist at the Charlestown Naval Yard, the Portsmouth Naval Yard and finally before retiring at the Army Research Center in Watertown. Bob was active in the communities he lived in and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in East Boston and the Italian American Club in the North End. He also enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and playing bocce. Bob is survived by his son Robert A Briano, Jr. and his wife Denise Goudreault of Keene, NH, his daughter, Carol and her husband John Bocchino of Wilmington, his sister Kathleen Briano of Plainville, and by his loving grandchildren, Marybeth Briano, Christopher Bocchino, Becky Briano, and Matthew Bocchino, and is also survived by his dear companion Lorraine Albiero of Danvers and many nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701
