Obituary of Concetta Tina (Uccello) Mallia

Concetta “Tina” (Uccello) Mallia PEABODY – Concetta “Tina” (Uccello) Mallia, 87, beloved wife of the late George Mallia, died peacefully on Saturday morning April 11, 2015 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following an extended illness. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Theresa (Casanello) Uccello. She grew up in East Boston, then moved to Peabody as a teenager where she lived most of her life. Mrs. Mallia worked at Olan Mills in their sales department, and had worked with her husband in the Oil Delivery & Service business. Tina enjoyed holiday dinners and cooking for family and friends. Everyone will miss her lasagna and manicotti. She also enjoyed going out shopping, being wherever people would gather, and after her marriage to George on July 20, 1947 enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage before his passing. She is survived by a daughter-in-law Cynthia Mallia of Peabody; three grandchildren, Gary & his wife Nikki Diotte, Steven Mallia, Jr. of Peabody, and Jennifer Pitrowski; five great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Joseph, Leo, George, and Gavin, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her parents and husband, by a son Steven G. Mallia, brothers Joseph and Frank Uccello, and sister Louise Jowers. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday April 15, 2015 at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 7 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
