Obituary of Joan Ellen Cormier

Joan Ellen (Dacey) Cormier, 67, of Peabody, died early Friday morning at the Beverly Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Beverly following A short illness. She was the wife of the late Richard Cormier who died in 1990. Born and raised in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Nora (Sullivan) Dacey and was a graduate of Matignon High School in Cambridge. She was a resident of West Peabody for 25 years and following her retirement in 1999, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she lived for 3 years before moving back to Peabody earlier this year. She had been a computer operator for the Analog Devices Corp. in Wilmington For 25 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed traveling and making Afghans and Giving them to the needy. She is survived by three sons and 2 daughter-in-laws, Stephen and Sheree Doherty of Salem, Ma., Charles Doherty of San Diego, California and Thomas and Cynthia Doherty of Danvers; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Robert Osgood of West Peabody; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Arlene Dacey of Beverly, Ma. A sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Francis Whalen of Phoenix, Az; an aunt, Margaret Sullivan of Bourne, Ma., 9 grandchildren, Daniel, Jessica, Michael, Matthew and Michael Doherty, Krystina and Corey Osgood, Chris and Sarah Klein, and Many neices and nephews. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. from the Cahill-Brodeur Facility at 20 Church St., Peabody of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Lynn, Ma. Visiting hours on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Relatives and Friends kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Lung Association, 1 Abbey Lane, Middleboro, Ma. 02346.
