Obituary of Walter Francis Bellaconis
Walter Bella F. Bellaconis, 63, formerly of 8 Fountain St., beloved husband of Margaret (Jennings) Bellaconis, died peacefully in his sleep at home following a long illness
Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Joseph and Stella (Brezicki) Bellaconis. He lived in Peabody all of his life, and attended Peabody schools. He graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1958, where he was a star on the Basketball Team.
Mr. Bellaconis ran a Basketball Team Bella’ s Hawk’ s in the Peabody Rec League for many years, and also played in St. Vasilios Men’ s League, he also loved bowling with Chamber of Commerce League at Metro Bowl, playing Billiards and Pool, going to watch the dogs race at Wonderland or the ponies at Suffolk Downs, was a member of the Italian-American Club in Peabody and the St. Michael’ s Social Club.
He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the City of Peabody before his retirement, and also was a Route Driver for Westlyn Creamery.
He is survived by: his wife, Margaret Meg (Jennings) Bellaconis, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage, of Peabody; three daughters, Peggy & Bob Bellaconis-Rogers of Salisbury, and Patty Mangini and Mary Ellen & Salvatore Zarro, both of Peabody; two sons, Walter Skip Bellaconis and Joseph Bellaconis, both of Peabody; six grandchildren, Mindy and Tricia Mangini of Peabody, Danielle Rogers of Salisbury, and Giuseppe, Salvatore, and Michael Zarro all of Peabody; one brother, Albert Bellaconis of Peabody; two sisters, Berniece Bentley of TX and Phyllis Bellaconis of Lynn, and several nieces and nephews and other extended family. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alicia Mangini.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 8 AM from the Cahill-Brodeur facility at 20 Church St. of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass next door at 9 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to Cancer Treatment Center, Centennial Dr., Peabody, MA 01960.
