Obituary of Laura J. (Rubano) Marcheterre

Laura J. (Rubano) Marcheterre PEABODY Laura J. (Rubano) Marcheterre, 73, beloved wife of the late Wilfred Marcheterre, died Monday at her daughters’ home following a brief illness. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late James and Rose (Scarfulo) Rubano. She lived in Salem in her youth and attended Salem schools. She graduated from Salem High School. She lived in Peabody for several years. Mrs. Marcheterre worked as an Office Manager with Charl-Don, which later became Laidlaw Sanitary Company in Peabody, for about 15 years. She was a member of the Italian Club in Salem, loved playing cards, Bingo, listening to her Italian songs, a devoted Red Sox fan, was a communicant at St. Mary’ s Italian Church in Salem, and loved social gatherings of friends and very devoted to her family. She is survived by: one son, Michael Fournier of Peabody; three daughters, Patricia McHugh, Rosanne Phillips, and Lisa Deleskey all of Peabody; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rose Dzierzak and Ida Massa both of Peabody, and Lena Caruso of Salem; she also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Marcheterre and a brother, Robert Rubano. Her Funeral Ceremony will be held on Friday at 10 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St. location, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Cremation will take place after the Ceremony, and urn burial will be in the near future. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923. -30-
