He was the beloved husband of Carol (Burrows) Pechinsky, with whom he shared nearly 47 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, Leon is survived by two sons and their families, Geoffrey and his wife Kristin of Lexington, MA, and Stephen and his wife Gillian of Topsfield, MA; and a younger sister, Elena Novero and her family, of Sandwich, MA. Leon has five cherished grandchildren: William, Andrew and Katherine, of Lexington and Emma and Shea, of Topsfield, and he will be missed by many members of his large extended family. Leon was born in Salem, MA on December 21, 1942. The son of the late William J. “Vitol” and Cassie Leona (Surman) Pechinsky, he was raised in South Peabody. Leon was a chemist at Bostik, Inc. for 25 years, retiring as R&D Technical Administrator in 2002. He enjoyed playing golf at the Sagamore Golf course, amongst others, tinkering with electronics, and most of all spending time at the family’s camp on Lake Wentworth, in Wolfeboro, NH. His most precious time was spent with his family and his dog, Chloe. Leon started his family in Peabody, and later moved to Danvers where they lived for 20 years. He and Carol moved to Georgetown nine years ago. Leon served on the Vestry at All Saints Church in Danvers and the Board of Trustees of the Parker River Landing Condo Association, and was a member of the Wentworth Park Association in Wolfeboro.
