Obituary of Edith R. (Rhine) Martin

Edith R. (Rhine) Martin 85 years, wife of the late Robert T. Martin, died Sunday at the Wingate at Andover facility. Mrs. Martin was born on September 26, 1920 in Everett daughter of the late Ernest and Yvonne (Barry) Rhine. She was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School class of 1937. Following her marriage she resided in Wakefield for 58 years before moving to her daughter’ s in 2002. Mrs. Martin devoted her entire life to her family and enjoyed baking, knitting and reading. She is survived by a daughter Elaine M. Desmond of Bradford; her grandchildren, Michelle and Michael Hartnett of Bradford and James Desmond of Caribou ME; great grandchildren Haley and Lindsay Hartnett of Bradford; a sister-in-law of Bert Rhine of Wichita Falls TX and a cousin of Leon Barry of Epping NH. Her brother William Bill Rhine pre deceased her. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Forest Glade Cemetery, Lowell St., Wakefield.
