Obituary of Franklin X Davidson

Franklin X Davidson, 81, of Peabody, died early Sunday morning at the Blaire House in Tewksbury following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Mildred (Gatchell) Davidson with whom he shared over 56 years of marriage. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Guy and Margaret (Manny) Davidson. He was a graduate of Peabody High School and received his engineering degree at Wentworth Institute in Boston. He has lived throughout the North Shore, Georgia and Baton Rouge, LA. Franklin served with the United States Army during the Korean War and later, he served with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War before be honorably discharged in 1971. Following his military service, he was employed with many construction companies on the North Shore before retiring as Superintendant with the Bickford Construction Company. He enjoyed traveling and playing golf. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his son, Philip Davidson of Seabrook, NH, his two daughters, Karen and her husband David DeLisle of Rowley and Dawn and her husband Jim Silva of Brentwood, NH, and by his three loving grandchildren, Kaitlyn DeLisle, and James and Tina Silva. Following cremation, his Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 PM at St. John’s Church, Peabody. Arrangements were made by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
