Obituary of Edith L. (Delp) Davis
Edith L. (Delp) Davis, 81, of Peabody, passed away on June 18, 2015 at the NSMC Salem Hospital after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Richard J. Davis.
She was born in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia, Canada on July 6, 1933, the eldest daughter of the late Charles S. and Frances (Campbell) Delp and at the age of 6 moved to Peabody where she has resided for the past 75 years.
She graduated from Peabody High School in the class of 1951 and married her childhood sweetheart Richard in 1953 and had shared 48 years of marriage prior to his passing. Edith had been employed at the Merrimack Valley Dist. Company in Danvers prior to her retirement.
She is survived by her 2 caring daughters, Deborah (Davis) LeClair and her husband David of Danvers and Cynthia Davis of Peabody and her dog and best friend “Daisy”.
A Sister Gertrude Newsham of Colchester, VT and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Stella (Delp) Winter.
A Service for the family was held at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody with burial in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mass.
