Obituary of Jeanette Pinto (Marcelino) Capela
Jeanette Pinto (Marcelino) Capela, 75, of Peabody, died Sunday evening at her home surrounded by her family following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Henrique Capela.
Born in Sao Paolo, Brazil, she was the daughter of the late Irineu and Arminda (Pinto) Marcelino. She was raised in Portugal and immigrated with her family in 1964 to the United States and has lived in Peabody for the past 51 years.
Jeanette was employed for over 18 years as an assembler at GTE Sylvania in Salem. She was a member of the CLC Club and Our Lady of Fatima Holy Ghost Society as well.
Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her two sons, Antonio Capela of Newburyport and Carlos and his wife Darlene of Peabody, her daughter, Arminda and her husband Kosta Dagas of Peabody, and is also survived by three grandchildren, Apostolos and Alex Dagas and Andrew Capela and several by several brothers and sisters in Brazil and nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody and her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Walsh Ave, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
