Obituary of Harold B Squibb

Harold B. Squibb, 82, of Peabody, died Tuesday evening June 30 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a courageous battle with illness. He was the husband of Lorraine (Milley) Squibb. Harold was born in Boston, MA on November 17, 1932, the son of the late Hubert Charles and Alice (Luff) Squibb and had resided in Medford and Everett, before moving to Peabody in 1969. Harold served four years (1952-1956) in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Missouri during the Korean war. He was a member of the local Carpenters Union, working in the construction industry for more than fifty years, and helped build many Boston landmarks including the Tobin Bridge, New England Aquarium, and many schools in Boston and the surrounding area. He lived a faith-centered life, serving in many leadership roles in his church. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family, cars, and using his construction skills to help family and friends with home projects. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lorraine of Peabody, his five children and their spouses: Rev. Ronald and Emma Squibb of Staten Island, NY, David and Cyndi Squibb, Judy and Ron Parsons, Barry and Tracey Squibb all of Peabody, MA, and Bruce and Linda Squibb of Hampstead, NH; his eleven grandchildren: Cheryl and Steve Plumb, Ron and Corrin Squibb, Melissa and Leland Bramer, Becky Squibb, Ronnie and Tim Parsons, Jonathan, Brandon, Lauren, Kaitlyn, and Matthew Squibb; and his three great grandchildren: Madison Squibb, Alyssa Plumb, and Lucas Squibb. He is the brother of the late Mary Clark and Frank Squibb, and the half brother of Robert, John, and Doris, and the late Charlie and David Squibb, and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Monday July 6, 2015 from 4-8 pm at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn Street, Peabody MA Facility. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 7, 2015 at Calvary Christian Church, 47 Grove Street, Lynnfield, MA at 11 am. Burial will be at the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody, MA. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Missionary Support Fund at Calvary Christian Church in his memory.
