Obituary of Hans-Georg Mertsch
Hans-Georg Mertsch, 66, of Lynn, died unexpectedly on Monday morning at his home. He was the former husband of Ruthe (Lecain) (Mertsch) Pelletier.
Born and raised in Konigsburg, East Prussia, Germany, he was the son of the late Theodor and Ella (Metschuck) Mertsch. He lived in Germany for most of his youth before immigrating to the United States over 40 years ago. He lived Lynn and several other communities on the North Shore.
Prior to his retirement, he was a tool and dye maker who owned and operated Superior Tool and Machine in Peabody, and also was involved with HGM Companies in Lynn.
He is survived by three sons, Hans Mertsch of Salem, Kurt Mertsch of Salem, and Roland Mertsch of Peabody; three daughters, Doreen Penoli of Windsor, Cal., Suzanne Ward of Peabody, and Heide Ingemi of Beverly; 3 brothers, Siegfried, Klaus, and Dieter Mertsch; 2 sisters, Marianne and Brigette; 16 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility (978) 531-0398, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 until 10:00 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to, My Brothers Table, 98 Willow St., Lynn, Ma 01901.
