Gladys B. (Bowen) Heath
PEABODY – Gladys B. (Bowen) Heath, 91, beloved wife of the late Daniel R. Heath, died comfortably and peacefully at the Masconoment Regional Healthcare Facility in Topsfield, surrounded by family on July 12, 2015.
Born in Milton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Kimber and Pearl (Bergenstock) Bowen. She grew up there and graduated from Milton High School. Once married, she lived in several places, including West Virginia, Kansas and New York before settling in Peabody for more than 50 years.
Gladys worked a short time as a secretary at Milton Steel & Manufacturing, but her main passion was nurturing and spending time with her family. She was a longtime member at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Peabody, volunteered at J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody and the Kiley School Library. She enjoyed reading, music, and solving crossword puzzles no one else in the family could complete. She was a very fashionable woman, never leaving the house without he lipstick on and nails manicured. She instilled Christian values of love and devotion in her children and grandchildren, and loved her great-grandson, who always made her smile.
She loved her family and was proud of each member. She is survived by a daughter Tina and Tony Firicano of East Wakefield, NH; three sons, Barney and Doreen Heath of West Gardiner, ME, Ted Heath and Wayne Pawlowski of Wilton Manors, FL, and Peter Heath and Aileen McKenna of Lake Hopatcong, NJ; two grandchildren, Laura & C. Ryan Spinello of North Andover and Nicholas Firicano of Rowley; one great-grandson John Anthony Spinello of North Andover, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 – 6 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for her Funeral Service on Monday July 20, 2015 at 11 AM in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church 166 High St., Newburyport. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to The Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist, 118 High St., Sanbornville, NH 03872.
