Obituary of Mary R. (Perlino) Mitchell

Mary R. (Perlino) Mitchell of Peabody, MA passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015 after a short illness. Mary was the daughter of the late Sebastiano and Rosina (Petrillo) Perlino. She was raised and educated in Lynn, MA, graduating from Lynn Classical High School in 1941, and resided in Peabody, MA since 1962. Mary is survived by her children and their spouses, Linda and Tim, Vincent and Marylee, Denise and Lou, Phillip and Jodi; 10 grandchildren, Marisa, Timothy, Vincent, Christine, Paul, Michelle, Nicole, Kyle, Kellie, and David and one great-grandchild, Declan. Mary is also survived by her special nephews of the Carey family and many other loving nieces, nephews and friends, and special caregiver, Adela. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Vincent J. Mitchell, Sr.; her cherished daughter, Annette Rose Mitchell, R.N.; her sister, Theresa A. (Perlino) Carey and her sister’s husband, William R. Carey and her much loved niece, Andrea Lynne Carey. Mary loved life and especially loved caring for her children and grandchildren. She was a consummate cook and gardener. Her husband, Vincent, loved her Italian cuisine. Mary delighted in preparing and sharing meals with everyone who came to her home. One may have entered as a stranger but left as a family member. Mary celebrated and reveled in the growth and success of each of her grandchildren. She never missed a family gathering or event and her family members and friends always knew they were the most important people in her life. Mary and husband, Vincent, made several trips to Italy with family and friends to visit with relatives and to tour the sights. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves and frequently regaled the family with tales of their travels. Mary will be missed by all who knew her and were blessed with her infinite love. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, July 30th at 11:30 a.m. from the funeral home followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lynn.
