Obituary of Elaine B. (LaPointe) Cyr

Elaine B. (LaPointe) Cyr, 88, of Peabody and Lynn, died Saturday at the Beverly Hospital with her family at her side. She was the wife of the late Galen Cyr. She was born in Skowhegan, Maine on July 23, 1927, the daughter of the late Pierre and Lumina (Samson) LaPointe and was raised there moving to Lynn in 1952. She had resided in Peabody since 1996. Elaine had been a bookkeeper at Gay’s Flower Shop in Stoneham for several years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting and crocheting, going dancing and most especially she lived for her family, nurturing them with motherly love. She is survived by a son, Wayne Cyr and a daughter, Karen French both of Lynn, her surviving siblings, Juliette Willette and Dorothy Franklin both of Maine and Loretta George of New Britain, Ct., her cherished grandchildren, Alex French and Angela Cornacchia and her great grandchildren, Kyle and Cole Cornacchia all of Haverhill and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Carole Giannotte. A Service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the family lot at St. Joseph Cemetery, 134 Broadway, Lynn MA.
