Obituary of William Joseph Pittella

William Joseph Pittella, 72 years, of Danvers died Friday July 11, 2003 at Beverly Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Pittella was born September 6, 1930 in Boston son of the late Stephen and Josephine (Rizzo) Pittella. He was raised in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School class of 1948. Prior to moving to Danvers 26 years ago he had resided in Peabody for 15 years. Mr. Pittella was employed for 19 years as an insurance agent with Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company until his retirement. Previously he had been employed for several years as a sales manager for Electrolux in Lawrence. He was a member of the Peabody Lodge of Elks 1409 of Peabody and the Polish Citizens Club in Danvers. Mr. Pittella is survived by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, William Pittella of Arlington and Robert and Sharon Pittella of Peabody, a brother Leo Pittella of Plymouth; a sister, Josephine Tripi of Lexington; 3 grandchildren, Robert Pittella Jr., Lisa Pittella and Joseph Pittella all of Peabody, several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody location (978-531-0398) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8 p.m. Burial in Annunciation cemetery, Danvers.
