Obituary of Dorothy M Tiplady

Dorothy M (Davis) Tiplady, 79, of Danvers and formerly of Peabody, died Monday afternoon, five years to the day her husband Robert’s death in 2010, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H and Lottie (Prusak) Davis. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of St. John’s Girls High School in Peabody. She later attended Burdett College in Boston. Dorothy was employed for over 30 years as a bookkeeper for various retailers on the North Shore, most notably, Jeffers Mill Work in Peabody, before she retired. She enjoyed camping and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, and sharing in all of their endeavors. She will be dearly missed. Dorothy is survived by her children, Karen McGoldrick of Danvers, Richard and his wife Roberta Tiplady of Peabody, Susan Fiore and her husband Paul of North Reading, and Nancy Uzarek of White River Junction, VT, her brother Robert J. Davis of Peabody, and also by her beloved seven grandchildren and a great grandchild. As per the request of the family, a private graveside service will be held at a later time.
