Obituary of Marianne Hughes

Marianne Hughes, 54, formerly of Peabody, died Sunday evening at theLawrence General Hospital, Medford, after a 54 year battle with Cerebral Palsy. She was born in Boston, MA on January 29, 1961, the daughter of the late Richard and Arlene M. (Davies) Hughes and had resided in Peabody most of her life. She was a graduate of Hofstra University of Long Island, NY. Marianne had resided at Peabody Glen Nursing Home and later at the Pine Knoll Nursing Home in Lexington. She enjoyed reading and helping out with the Nursing Home Newsletters. She also enjoyed the recreational bowling there and her sheer joy was being with the therapy dogs that visited the nursing homes. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Joseph Fazio of Burlington, MA, a brother and sister-in-law, Richard J. and Sigia Hughes of So. Carolina, her former sister-in-law, Christine Hughes of Patterson, NY, her nieces and nephews, Rosalie, Terry and Paul Fazio, Richard, Thomas, Alyssa and Peter Hughes and Jennifer and Nathan Hughes. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church 140 Lynn St., Peabody at 12 Noon.
