Obituary of Isidro R. Maria

Isidro R. Maria, 76, of Peabody, passed away Tuesday Evening at the Lahey Clinic Hospital in Burlington following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Marina A. (Bettencourt) Maria. Isidro was born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, son of the late Manuel and Deolinda (Ramalho) Maria. He was raised in Terceira prior to moving to the United States. While in the United States, he was a photographer, something he was very passionate about, even opened up his own studio, Photo-Art Studio in Peabody. He was also a longtime member of the Azorean Brotherhood of the Divine Holy Ghost in Peabody. Some of his other passions included cooking, entertaining people whenever he could, watching his favorite soccer team, S.L. Benfica, but most importantly he enjoyed being surrounded by his loving family, including his grandchildren. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a son; Isidro Maria; his daughters; Grace Martins, Paula Borges, Teresa Coelho, Marina Camara, and Jessie Maria; his 16 loving grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; his brothers Manuel Silva and Ildeberto Maria, and many nieces and nephews. His Visitation will be held on Friday, August 14th, from 4- 8PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His funeral will be held on Saturday, August 15th, at 8:30A.M at the funeral home followed by a funeral service at the Calvary Christian Church, 47 Grove St., Lynnfield at 9:30A.M. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
