Obituary of Arthur J. Ruggiero
Arthur J. Ruggiero, 90, of Peabody died peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers with his family at his side. He was the husband of Agnes (Karabelas) Ruggiero and the former husband of the late Josephine (LoBue) Ruggiero of East Boston.
He was born in East Boston on June 30, 1925, the son of the late Fortunato and Jenny (Scardone) Ruggiero and was raised in East Boston and had resided in Revere most of his life before moving to Peabody 24 years ago.
He had been a meat cutter with the former Armour Meat Packing Co. of Boston for over 30 years prior to his retirement. He was a veteran serving overseas with the US Army during WW 11.
He is survived by his wife Agnes, a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Mario E. Motta of Gloucester, his grandchildren, Justin D. Motta of Wilmington, Mellissa A. Motta of Gloucester, Andrea Motta Hatziyannis and her husband Alexander and his great grandchild, Josephine A. Hatziyannis all of Litchfield, NH, a step daughter, Pamela Gruntkosky of Danvers, a step-son and daughter-in-law, James karabelas and Babette van Duyse of Boston and a step-grandson Adam A.J. Gruntkosky of Danvers , a sister, Lillian Carnabuci of Beverly and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph, Nicholas and Albert Ruggiero.
A Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St. (Downtown) Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the
Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden. Expressions of Sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 in his memory.
