Obituary of Winifred Winnie M. (O'Keefe) Yale

Winifred “Winnie” M. (O’Keefe) Yale PEABODY – Winifred M. “Winnie” (O’Keefe) Yale, 82, beloved wife of the late Henry Yale, died peacefully on Monday August 24, 2015 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center Hospital in Burlington following a brief illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Skelly) O’Keefe. She graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1951, and was a lifelong resident of the city. Winnie was an Office Manager with the former Deerskin Trading Post. She ended her career in the office with Danvers Motor Company, known as Danvers Ford, where she loved her work and the people there. Winnie enjoyed gardening, her pet dogs, traveling to the family cottage in Maine, and socializing with her many friends. Her passion, pride and joy was nurturing her family, and she was a strong supporter of her grandchildren while they played in their respective sports. She is survived by three daughters and a son and their spouses, Mary Win & Kevin McCarthy of Danvers, Paula & Tony Maistrellis of Peabody, Doreen & Andy Zaback of Farmington, CT, and John & Martha Yale of Haverhill; seven grandchildren, Timothy & Susan McCarthy, Eleni & Charlie Maistrellis, John & Zach Zaback, and Patrick Yale; a brother Frank R. O’Keefe, Jr. & his wife Patricia and their family of Frank T. O’Keefe and Ann Marie O’Keefe as well as nieces Marguerite Mailloux and Dorothea Kuchinsky & their families. She made many dear friends in life, and especially enjoyed her group including Nancy Jenkins, Mimi Murphy, Eileen Gallant, Pat Jalbert and Jane Callahan. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday August 28, 2015 at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
