Obituary of James Ignatious O'Shea Jr.

James I. O’Shea Jr., 91, of Andover and formerly of Peabody, died early Sunday August 30, 2015 +at the Wingate at Andover Nursing Home, Andover after a short illness. He was born in Peabody, MA on March 25, 1914, the son of the late James I. and Marie (LaFreniere) O’Shea and had resided in Peabody most of his life before moving to Andover 3 years ago. He had been employed at the Ivory System in Peabody and later at the Salem Hospital . He also worked in the leather industry in Peabody and then became a crossing guard for the City of Peabody for 12 years prior to his retirement. He was a communicant of St. John’s Church Peabody. He is survived by his nephews and their spouses, Roger Peter and Jessie O’Shea of Andover and Dennis and Nancy O’Shea of Deerfield, NH, four great Nephews and a great niece and many great grand nephews and nieces. He was the great uncle of Master Sergeant Shawn Patrick O’Shea of the US Marine Corps who died in 2012. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday , Sept. 2, 2015 from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody (Downtown) facility from 10:00 until 10:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
