Obituary of Eleanor J. (Roberts) Norris

Eleanor J. (Roberts) Norris SALEM – Eleanor J. (Roberts) Norris, 72, died unexpectedly on Monday September 7, 2015 at the North Shore Medical Center—Salem Hospital, after taking an ill turn at her home. Born in Methuen, she was the daughter of the late Emile and Emily (Hansen) Roberts. She lived there a few years, then grew up and lived mostly in Lynn. She graduated from Lynn English High School. She lived in Salem for nearly 30 years. Ms. Norris worked in the Credit Department with Kraft Foods, and later with Levitz Furniture. Eleanor was a gifted artist, and enjoyed playing piano. She loved drawing nature scenes and using oil paints. She loved Salem Willows, and she was most passionate about her devotion to family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. She is survived by two daughters and a son, Teresa Keene and her husband Kevin of Burlington, Kelly Bettger of Peabody, and Kevin Norris of Salem; four grandchildren, Robert Bettger, James Bettger, Kaitlin Keene and Jake Keene; one great-granddaughter, Madisyn Bettger; a sister Elaine Wilson of Port St. Lucie, FL, and several nieces and nephews. She was the wife of Thomas Norris. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Saturday September 12, 2015 from 10 AM – 12 Noon at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 12 Noon in the funeral home. Cremation will follow the ceremony. Urn burial will be at a later time in Cedar Grove Cemetery with her parents Emily and Emile.
