Obituary of Marguerita (Bennett) Wynne

Marguerita (Bennett) “Sis”, “Rita” Wynne, 85, of Peabody, died Tuesday evening at the Essex Park Nursing Center, Beverly following along illness. She was the wife of the late Patrick Wynne. Rita was born in Jamaica Plain on March 9, 1930, the daughter of the late Parker and Marguerita (Fallon) Bennett and was raised there and had resided in Peabody for the past 55 years. Rita loved to be with all her family, nurturing them with her words of wisdom and enjoyed cooking and taking care of them. She liked to go bowling and also listening to Irish Music, doing sing-a-longs and going to dances. Her most precious time was spent with family gatherings. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Betty Wynne of Raymond, NH and James and Freida Wynne of Lacey, Washington, a daughter and son-in-law, Maureen and Brian Lynch of Peabody, her cherished grandchildren and spouses, Scott and Amber Wynne of Danvers, Michael and Mary Lynch of Spoffard, NH, John Lynch of Peabody, Patrick Wynne of Adams, MA, Daniel Wynne of Raymond, NH, Sandra and Shar Phillips of Alaska, Christy and Richard Mahn of Texas, Jillian and Matt Luquette and Stephanie and Scott Hamm all of Raymond, NH, Sheila Wynne and Phellipe Sousa of Boxford and Katie and Geoffrey Gongas of Peabody, 16 great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law Pauline Wynne of Lynn, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Peabody police officer Brian Wynne who died last July and a host of brothers and sisters from the Bennett and Wynne families. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her Funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Salem.
