Obituary of Patricia M Cunningham

Patricia M (Schimpf) Cunningham, 85, of Osterville and Peabody, died unexpectedly on Tuesday at home. She was the loving wife of Leonard Cunningham with whom she shared 57 years of marriage. Born in Providence, RI on December 24, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Alice (Killam) Schimpf. She attended St. Ann’s in Arlington and then graduated from Peabody High School. She later attended Bentley College and received her degree in Accounting. Pat was a CPA who owned and operated her own accounting business for many years, and prior to that she worked for many years in the leather industry at Gail’s Leather in Peabody. Pat was very active in the communities she lived in and loved to travel, entertain, and flowers. She enjoyed spending time at the Cape, Marblehead, the symphony, shopping, and helping others. She was a long time member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Peabody and a long time friend of Bill W. In addition to her loving husband, she was the devoted mother of Dr. Mary Cunningham Boyce , the doting grandmother of Jack and Nat Boyce, and also leaves her special niece Mary Schimpf whom she thought of as a daughter. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and good friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Elizabeth Schimpf and Jayne Casale, her niece, Anne Schimpf, and her son-in-law, Ward Boyce. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
